Rachel Trusty is an artist, curator, and educator originally from central Arkansas. She taught art in the public school system for several years before teaching at the college level, and is currently a Phd Student in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at the University of Kansas. Her research explores the Queer Abstraction art movement.
Rachel’s work highlights the overlooked history of same-sex female couples and relationships from the past. The small photographs have been hand-painted and embellished as a way of re-imagining them and bringing them to life.
